Overview

From Positano to Portofino and Capri to Grado, the Costa Magica pays homage to Italy and all its wonders. Each of the Magica’s public rooms and restaurants are reminiscent of some of the most beautiful locales in Italy. At 105,000 tons the Costa Magica is one of the largest cruise ships ever to fly the Italian flag and one of the largest ships in Costa’s fleet.

Dining

Costa knows the food you’re in the mood for can change daily – or even hourly! To keep all passengers pleased, Costa offers both formal and casual dining, outdoor dining, poolside dining, midnight buffets, and room service available both day and night. You may choose to dine at the casual buffet one night and then switch it up the next night by dining in a formal, world-class, specialty restaurant (additional charges apply). For a snack or quick meal, cozy bistros serving pizza, gelato, cappuccino, and espresso are also available.

Cabins

Sailing on a Costa cruise ship means days of fun and nights of luxury due to Costa’s stylish and modern cabins full of contemporary amenities and features. A Costa cabin will feel like your home away from home for the duration of your trip. No matter the category of cabin you choose, the quality will be consistently superb. To ensure you always have the best in luxury and comfort, your cabin’s decorations and linens are constantly updated, keeping quality and comfort at the forefront. No matter where your cabin is located on the ship, it will be comfortable, practical, and peaceful. Outside cabins also have the added feature of a window or porthole with an ocean view. If you’re looking for more spacious accommodations, Costa cabins with balconies are sure to please you, as you will have your own private balcony where you can enjoy breakfast in the morning or admire unforgettable views.

Entertainment

While sailing on a Costa cruise, you can be as active or as relaxing as you want. Entertainment onboard the ship is always available and you can participate in activities that interest you, some of which include art auctions, horse racing, bridge games, Italian lessons, cooking lessons, and trivia contests. Shipboard entertainment is organized by your cruise staff and a complete schedule of the next day’s events is listed in the daily program that is delivered each evening to your cabin. With so much fun onboard, you can have a perfectly amazing vacation without ever setting foot on land!

Kids

Costa’s provides staff on its ships during the day to entertain children and teens, which gives parents a time to relax while onboard and during excursions. For children between the ages of 3 to 17, Costa Cruises offers a free group service every day from 9:00 a.m. to midday, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and from 9:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

In addition, there are 4 clubs available for children and teens:

2 for children: “Mini” for 3 through 6-year-olds and “Maxi” for 7 through 11-year-olds

2 for teenagers: “Teen Junior” for 12 through 14-year-olds and “Teen” for 15 through 17-year-olds. (Teen Junior is only active during certain periods)

Also, children under the age of 3 are allowed, but only during certain times (not during busy times in high season) and must be accompanied by an adult.

Dress Code

Daytime dress on a Costa cruise is casual and light, cotton clothing or swimwear with cover-ups is recommended. Almost every night is informal, which means you can dress comfortably in resort attire and jackets for men are not required. Two formal evenings are typically arranged where you may choose to either dress formally – a suit for men and cocktail dress for women – or more casually in elegant resort wear.

Gratuity / Tipping

For your convenience, Costa will automatically debit your onboard account with a standard service charge per person / per day. A Guest Relations Desk is available for you to contact if you wish to change the amount being tipped. Typically, bartenders, servers, deck stewards, and other staff may be tipped as service is received. Also for your convenience, a 15% gratuity is automatically added to beverage purchases.
