Anthem of the Seas

198 Reviews
Royal Caribbean

Part resort, part amusement park, Anthem of the Seas goes above and beyond to ensure that guests have the widest possible array of entertainment and dining choices aboard ship. The ship's entertainment hub is the SeaPlex where you can make like an acrobat on the flying trapeze, race bumper cars, roller skate, or play soccer. If you want to get your adrenaline flowing, head for the top deck, where you can get a taste of skydiving in RipCord by iFly's simulator, take a ride in North Star, a glass pod attached to a mechanical arm that allows it to hover off the edge of the ship, or try to hang ten on FlowRider, the onboard surf simulator.

In addition to the jaw-dropping entertainment options, the ship boasts a range of luxurious accommodations. The most exciting innovation might be in the inside cabins that through the magic of 80-inch high-def screens, all come with an ocean view! The screens broadcast live images from cameras outside the ship so you can lie in bed and gaze at the horizon despite the fact that you're in an interior cabin. You can even turn on the sound to get the full experience of open balcony windows! All of the staterooms feature tasteful, contemporary décor and thoughtful touches like USB ports for charging your devices.

Onboard Experience

Dining

Dining options in Anthem of the Sea's main restaurants are varied; the menus include something for every dietary preference as well as options just for kids. If you develop a preference for one of the main restaurants early on, you can make a standing reservation for the duration of your trip, even reserving the same table if you like. Café Two70 is a great option for grab-and-go sandwiches and more casual fare.

The ship's specialty restaurants offer even greater variety in both cuisine and ambiance. Jamie's Italian by Jaime Oliver offers a menu of contemporary takes on classic Italian dishes that have been specially curated by the celebrity chef. Foodies will be delighted by Wonderland, the ship's foray into the world of molecular gastronomy. The name and décor are a nod to the dreamlike world that Alice finds herself in after she tumbles down the rabbit hole, and you can bet that a meal at Wonderland will feel like a similarly wild and exciting adventure. For another unique experience, make your way to the Bionic Bar, where robot bartenders will mix your drinks after you place your order on a tablet.

Entertainment

The interactive entertainment options aboard Anthem of the Seas are centered around SeaPlex, a massive indoor sports and entertainment complex. There's a massive open space with a DJ booth floating above it that is used for everything from roller skating and bumper cars to trapeze school. On the second level are a number of rooms where you can play video games, ping pong, and foosball. Still more fun can be had on the top deck where you'll find North Star, a glass pod that provides guests with a view from 300 feet above sea level at it extends over the edge of the ship, and RipCord by iFly, a skydiving simulator.

At night, most of the action will be found at Two70, the ship's innovative entertainment venue. During the day, the floor-to-ceiling windows and comfy furniture make Two70 a great place to sit and enjoy the ocean views, but at night, those windows are transformed into LED screens that provide an immersive, moving backdrop for the dancers, singers, actors, and acrobats who perform in front of them.

Fitness & Recreation

Anthem's three main pools are located on Deck 14 alongside the kid-friendly H2O Zone, which features a lazy river as well as a splash zone for the tiniest tots. For those who prefer a calmer environment, the adults-only Solarium pool with its three tiers and ocean views is always a popular spot.

You'll have no trouble sticking to your workout regimen while at sea thanks to the ship's state-of-the-art fitness center. Spanning a large section of Deck 16, the fully-equipped fitness center can definitely compete with any gym on land. In addition to tons of cardio and strength training equipment, you'll find studios where you can take classes in indoor cycling, Pilates, or cardio boxing. If you prefer to get moving outside, you can clock a mile in just under three laps on the track on Deck 15.

Spa

Vitality Spa on Deck 15 features 19 treatment rooms, including two reserved just for couples' treatments. Other spa facilities include heated tile loungers, a rain shower, a sauna, and a steam room. Vitality offers a full range of treatments like massages, wraps, and facials as well as grooming treatments for men and women. If you're looking for a little help with that post-vacation glow, you can book an anti-aging treatment in the med-spa. Acupuncture and teeth-whitening services are also available at Vitality. The salon has a full range of nail and hair services, including Keratin treatments. Teen and tween passengers can get in on the pampering thanks to special treatments designed just for them.

Shopping

When you're ready to shop 'til you drop, head for the Royal Esplanade, which spans Decks 4 and 5. From Royal Caribbean-branded merchandise to luxury watches and high-end beauty products, the ship's boutiques have plenty to offer. The onboard shops include well-known luxury brands like Tom Ford, Bulgari, and Bobbi Brown. Thanks to the central location of the boutiques, you have plenty of options for places to grab a bite or a cocktail if you need a break between stores. Everything purchased while the ship is at sea is tax and dutyfree, so it's the perfect opportunity to buy yourself something special.

Kids

Royal Caribbean is known for its top-notch family programs, and it would tough to beat Anthem as a choice for groups traveling with kids. The aquapark in the H2O Zone, which even offers kid-sized deck chairs, is just one example of the ways that the ship caters to families with kids of all ages. In addition to poolside fun, Royal Caribbean offers Adventure Ocean, a no-fee program that provides kids as young as three with tons of fun and exciting activities while Mom and Dad relax in the spa or make a shore excursion. The Living Room is a space designed to give tweens and teens the opportunity to engage in organized activities or just hang out and play video games. Thanks to SeaPlex, the arcade, and interactive experiences like archery tournaments, the ship also has plenty of choices for things that the whole family can enjoy together.

Casino

Royal Caribbean's signature Casino Royale, is located on Deck 3 adjacent to the Music Hall. With thousands of square feet of gaming space, the casino is fully stocked with video poker, slot machines, and table games sure to please players of all interests and abilities. If you've never so much as placed a bet, you can take advantage of complimentary lessons on classic games like poker and blackjack. Expert players may want to sign up for one of the regularly scheduled tournaments. Whatever your level of gambling experience, you won't want to miss your date with Lady Luck at sea.
