As imagined by AmaWaterways’ Co-Founder, Co-Owner, and President, Rudi Schreiner, the “Godfather of River Cruising,” the AmaMagna is twice the width of traditional European river ships and offers more personal space, more unique dining venues, and more leisure opportunities. Redefining the river cruise experience, most accommodations are spacious suites measuring 355 to 710 sq. feet with full balconies.
In addition to The Main Restaurant and The Chef’s Table, AmaMagna introduces two enticing new dining venues: Jimmy's Wine Bar, a family-style restaurant named for AmaWaterways’ late Co-Owner Jimmy Murphy, and the Al Fresco Restaurant, featuring retractable windows and outdoor seating. Both a sun-deck pool and whirlpool invite guests to refresh and enjoy the views. AmaMagna’s Zen Wellness Studio is an expansive space with a fitness center, two massage rooms, and a refreshing juice bar.
The Main Restaurant
AmaWaterways’ expert chefs craft menus that feature exquisite, locally inspired cuisine as well as traditional, Western offerings. Breakfast and lunch offer mouthwatering options and a selection of made-to-order menu items, while dinner is a delectable, multi-course affair with wine recommendations that accompany visually stunning, delicious dishes. Dining at this venue is included with your cruise fare.
AmaMagna by AmaWaterways receives overwhelmingly positive reviews for its luxurious accommodations, attentive service, excellent food, and well-organized excursions. Guests consistently praise the spacious cabins, friendly and professional staff, and the overall quality of the ship. While most experiences exceeded expectations, a few guests noted minor issues with specific staff members, drink policies, and the desire for more free time or entertainment. Overall, the cruise is highly recommended for its value, comfort, and memorable experiences.
Service on AmaMagna is frequently described as attentive, friendly, and above and beyond expectations. Staff and cruise directors are highlighted for their professionalism and care, though there are rare mentions of individual staff issues.
