Your 14-night Seabourn expedition begins in Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland. Established in 874, Reykjavík spent centuries as a small farming settlement. Today, it has a population of around 200,000 people and is the top cultural, shopping, dining, music, and history destination in the country.
After departing from Reykjavík, your luxury cruise will continue to Grundarfjordur, a small fishing village to the north. The village is surrounded by beautiful mountains and national parks that are waiting to be explored. In the summer months, you can also watch Viking re-enactments in the town center for an exciting, historical experience.
On day two, the cruise visits Vigur Island, a renowned spot for viewing Iceland's magnificent nesting bird colonies, which can be spotted on the surrounding cliffs. It is also the site of the country's oldest house which dates back to the Viking age.
After departing from the north coast of Iceland, it's off to the shores of Greenland. Day seven begins with a visit to Ella Island, a rugged and rocky location with vertical cliffs that jut 4,000 feet into the sky. Later in the day, set sail further north to Blomster Bugt, which translates to "Flower Bay," named for its beautiful and colorful flowering plants.
