Only two types of evening dress are worn onboard a Princess cruise: smart casual and formal. For smart casual attire, passengers are advised to dress like they would if they were going to a nice restaurant at home. On formal evenings, men wear tuxedos, dark suits, or dinner jackets, and women wear evening gowns, cocktail dresses, or elegant pant suits.
Fitness / Recreation
Princess Cruises’ ships are equipped to keep you healthy and allow you to stay on your normal workout regimen while onboard. Between basketball, paddle tennis, jogging tracks, and state-of-the-art gym equipment, you’ll keep your endorphins up and your body toned.
When the sun goes down, the stage comes alive on a Princess Cruise. Seasoned performers bring to life Broadway-style shows of the highest quality with great acoustics. In addition to theater productions, you can watch lounge acts and first-run movies shown both indoors and outdoors. If you are feeling more active, hit one of the many dance floors or try your hand at a game in the casino.
Gratuity / Tipping
Knowing who to tip and how much can be overwhelming. To make things easier for you so you can just enjoy your cruise, Princess Cruises automatically adds a discretionary grauity charge of $11 for suites and mini-suites and $10.50 for all other cabins per person, per day (including children) to your shipboard account on a daily basis. The staff who share these tips include the wait staff, cabin stewards, buffet stewards, galley staff, laundry staff, and others. Casino dealers and Lotus Spa personnel do not share in these tips since not all passengers use their services.
The Lotus Spa offers everything you need to pamper yourself, from facials, scrubs, and massages to body therapy and body wraps. The Lotus Spa also includes a full service salon.
The Ruby Princess provides deals on designer clothing and gifts, including Lladro, Swarovski, Calvin Klein, Tommy Bahama, Lancome, Clinique, Estee Lauder, and Fossil. Get a gift for a loved one or something for yourself, or – with great savings of up to 30% – both!
Fine cuisine becomes an art form on a Princess cruise. Each meal is created by Princess Cruises’ superb chefs, who infuse creativity and diverse ingredients to make every dining experience different. In addition to the amazing food, you will be met with impeccable service while dining.
You can experience this in the traditional Botticelli Dining Room which offers meals at the same time each day. If a set schedule for eating doesn’t work with your plans for the day, anytime dining is available at the Michelangelo Dining Room and the Da Vinci Dining Room so you can eat at a time that works best for you.
In addition to their exquisite dining rooms, Princess Cruises offers a variety of specialty restaurants including Sabatini’s for Italian favorites and the Crown Grill for steak and seafood. Each one offers something unique and, of course, delicious! To ensure you get a spot at the restaurant of your choice on your preferred dining night, reservations are recommended. In addition, a cover charge applies.
Sometimes onboard a Princess cruise you might feel like you’re having so much fun doing activities that you don’t want to take the time to eat! If that’s the case, you can stop by one of the ship’s casual dining venues, where you can get something that’s fast and filling. You can even order take-out or eat by the pool!
Try your luck at Gatsby’s Casino where you can play a variety of table games including all of the favorites: Blackjack, Caribbean Stud, Craps, Let It Ride, Roulette, and Three Card Poker.
On Princess Cruises it doesn’t matter what your age is – you’ll be having a great time. Kids will be able to participate in activities tailored specifically for their age group with Princess Pelicans (ages 3-7), Shockwaves (ages 8-12), and Remix (ages 13-17). Video games, movies, arts and crafts, fooseball tables, board games, pizza parties, pajama nights, and jukeboxes are all fun activities available depending on the age group.
