Silversea - Silver Spirit Reviews

Silver Seas is a good luxury cruise line. Some improvement on excursions would help but I know they address that in their planning.

This was our fifth Silversea Cruise. Need I say more. But I will. This was an excellent trip to Greece. The service on the ship was superior, all the restaurants service and food were fantastic. We will be cruising again with Silversea.

Excellent service from crew. Only downside was missing one port call due to weather. Travel advisor David Walsh was superb.

First time crossing the Atlantic First time for a trip that lasted that long* 13 days First time one as small a ship as the Silver Spirit First time where the cruise was all inclusive* Tips, Beverages & WIFI all included

We had a wonderful TA cruise. The food, staff & activities were great. Our cabin was very spacious and we had more room than we needed. Wll do another SS cruise I'm sure

We had a great time, marred only by some fellow travelers who seemed to think that shore excursions were at Disneyland and every detail should be to their liking. Travel is an adventure.

We enjoyed the cruise especially the larger room & bath tub. The staff were very pleasant. There were a number of things that should be noted. The food was for the most part poorly seasoned. The seating arrangements in the dining areas on the cruises made it difficult to meet people. The guides on the tours barely spoke English & sometimes went ahead with only part of the group. We noted after we left the ship that we were charged $28 for the Maruzza Foundation. We had filled out a form that denied permission for those funds to be charged to our account. We request a refund of this amount on principle. The entertainment provided on the cruise was mediocre with the exception of a pianist. Our trip to Cambodia was exceptional, particularly the guide. The only exception was the meals at Raffels were not good. Thank you David for arranging our pick up in Singapore when our prearranged pickup didn`t arrive. Please forward this information to Silverseas. Change does not occur if they don`t know there is a problem. Cheryl & Valerie Norman

Wonderful. Everything we hoped for and more.

We had a very nice cruise, the staff was friendly and very efficient. The cruise line however fell short of expectations. They seemed to have communication problems, and particularly the food. Although they had several restaurants choices, the menus were set with no change. Two of the restaurants came with a charge, and other guest seemed to agree they fell short of expectations, and some even demanded the charge be reversed. Having traveled on other “luxury lines”, I have to say for the price, I do not plan to use Silver Sea again.

First rate cruise line with terrific food

The ports were great, the rooms perfect, and personnel generally very nice. The negatives were: no special meals for the Spanish culture, think formal nights are for another even older generation--maybe have them just in the specialty restaurants, It was a hassle to get a burger at the pool deck after 5pm when we just got in and did not want to dress up for dinner.

This was our second Silver Seas cruise. This line is more expensive so we expect more. Our first trip on Silver Seas was wonderful in all categories. This time it was mixed. Cabin: Veranda 5, #748, Silver Spirit. Our cabin Butler, Rowena, and cabin attendant, Pamela, were exceptional. We had difficulty sleeping in this cabin because the ceiling creaked loudly off and on all night. There were lots of rattles. Maintenance did come and attach a picture over the bed more securly and fixed a rattle behind the mirror where the tv was mounted. They removed the cabin door and oiled the hinges. This only helped slightly. There was nothing they could do about the creaking ceiling and wall. Food: The food was not as good on this cruise. While it was still better than the less expensive cruise lines, it wasn't as good as the first cruise. Some nights we ate in the buffet becuase we didn't like anything on the main restaurant menu. We are somewhat plain eaters. The service in the restaurants was good some nights and other night we waited quite a while for food and refills of drinks.

Enjoy the fact that Silversea has meet and greets for solo travelers.

Overall, the cruise was great. The excursions were some of the best we've experienced. The food on the cruise ship was nothing spectacular which was a disappointment. Although the meal in Le Champagne was amazing. The cabin was very nice as expected and service and staff were great
