(B,D) ROYAL VISIT Step into Hawaii's royal history with a guided visit to Iolani Palace, the former residence of Hawaii's last reigning monarchs and the only royal palace in the United States. Admire the beautifully restored interiors, period furnishings, and captivating exhibits while learning about the Kingdom of Hawaii and the remarkable legacy. THE MIGHTY MO Climb aboard the Battleship Missouri Memorial and experience one of America's most celebrated naval vessels, the USS Missouri. Tour the massive battleship, stand on the deck where World War II history was made in 1945, and explore exhibits highlighting decades of naval service. Tonight, enjoy free time and dinner at your resort. TOUR HIGHLIGHT Visit the Pearl Harbor National Memorial and learn about one of the most pivotal moments in U.S. history. Cruise over to the USS Arizona Memorial and pay your respects to the 1,177 crewmen that were killed here on December 7, 1941. To this day, over 900 crewmen are entombed in the ship’s wreckage 40 feet below the water. Browse the exhibits in the museum and, learn about the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Japanese military strategy, and the individuals involved in the events of December 7, 1941. Polynesian Pleasures Board a morning flight to Hawaii’s Big Island. Upon arrival in Hilo on the east coast, travel to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to see Kilauea, which rises 4,090 feet above a dramatic landscape of steaming fire pits, lava tubes, and fern forests. In 1952, Leonard Rego, the grandson of Portuguese immigrants from the Azores, opened a bakery and became the first to make them with fresh island eggs, creating a pastry that is crisp on the outside and light and fluffy inside. Today, malasadas remain a beloved local sweet treat in Hawaii.
