Norwegian Spirit
Completely redesigned for the 2020 cruise season kick-off, the Norwegian Spirit is one of the oldest cruise ships in the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet. This vessel is most often seen in the African, Asian, and Mediterranean cruises, with special service to other regions of the world. Although it is among the smallest of the cruise line's ships, measuring in at approximately 880 feet in total length, it boasts a spacious interior that can accommodate nearly 3,000 guests and crew members. The staterooms have been renovated with all new finishings and furniture to give them a clean and contemporary look that promotes relaxation while you enjoy a memorable voyage at sea. Many of the restaurant’s meals are inspired by the destinations you will travel to while on your cruise. The ship offers two complimentary restaurants, Windows and The Garden Room, where you can relax and dine on simple meals handcrafted especially for you. Blue Lagoon is also a popular comfort food hotspot that’s open 24 hours a day to satisfy your cravings for snacks and quick-serve foods such as fish and chips, hot wings, and french fries. Additionally, Shogun is a complimentary restaurant that dolls out noodles and other Asian cuisines. The Norwegian Spirit receives mixed reviews, with many guests praising the friendly and attentive crew, excellent itineraries, and enjoyable entertainment. However, recurring criticisms include the ship's age and need for refurbishment, inconsistent food quality, slow or unresponsive service in some areas, and high extra charges for excursions and amenities. While many travelers had a great time and would cruise again, others were disappointed by maintenance issues, lack of variety in activities, and subpar communication from management.
