The trip was not what we expected from the food to the beverage process to disembarking. The food was good but well below that of the previous cruises we had been on. The beverage plans charged for soft drinks on a non meal time schedule. I understand alcohol but soft drinks, it felt very customer unfriendly. The worst part of the trip was finding out the point of disembarkation was not Dijon or even close to Dijon but an hour south with no transportation options. We found out on the boat that the only way within reason to get to Dijon was by bus from our landing point. I called my travel agent and AMA to clarify disembarkation details prior to leaving and both gave me inaccurate information. So we took the AMA arranged bus at 530am arrive at the Dijon train station at 630am for a 9am train. Not a great way to end our trip. We spoke with the AMA representative on board who defended how the end of the trip was communicated but the brochure was very misleading.

We had a great time onboard. Our director Fatima was excellent and went above and beyond with her service. We also very much enjoyed the crew. Bonnie from the booking end of things was also great.

The cruise was amazing. Our family loved it. We will have memories for a lifetime. The crew were friendly and made the trip enjoyable. We loved the food. My only critique might be to offer some additional flexibility for food rather than sit down dining every meal.

This cruise was wonderful! Floating down the beautiful French countryside on the water was truly a gift. Each small town brought unique experiences and wonderful people. Really enjoyed going through the locks also. The staff and crew were all helpful and kind. Very relaxing, truly a vacation, that was unique.

Wonderful friendly, kind people—ship’s staff, tour guides, other guests on the ship, shopkeepers, restaurant waitstaff, and the Provençal and Burgundians we encountered on the street. There was none of the big city brusqueness that you have to deal with in Paris. Beautiful countryside—lavender fields, vineyards, and pastures dotted with black and brown cows and white horses. Swans swimming serenely on the rivers as we passed. Stone farmhouses, centuries old, but still being lived in. Cathedrals, basilicas,and Parish churches. Roman built arenas and public buildings still being used. The food, on the boat and in restaurants, was very good, The wines were nice too, but we ate more than we drank. The cabin seemed tiny when we first saw it, probably because our last trip was on the Ama Magna. It was extremely well-planned and well-equipped though. All in all a wonderful, memorable trip! My wife and I did the Flavors of Burgundy river cruise on the Saone River in June 2024 with AMA Waterways. It was fantastic! Our trip started with an overnight in Lyon and then proceeded upriver to a different location each night. Each town we visited was very clean and picturesque and had lots of things to see. There were multiple tour options every day, including tours of the towns where we were staying, chateaus, vineyards, castles, and also bicycle tours. All tours that we attended were excellent. We learned a lot about French history and wine and winemaking, in particular. The excursions to Beaune and Dijon were especially fun. The AMACello is a beautiful ship, with a capacity of 146 passengers and 46 crew members. Our trip was less than half full, giving us an opportunity to have conversations with nearly everyone on board. We got fantastic service from the crew members, who were all very friendly. The food was excellent for the most part and complimentary wine and beer were generously provided with meals. I was somewhat concerned about the food before going on the cruise because I have celiac disease and consequently cannot eat anything with wheat, barley, or rye in it. I contacted AMAWaterways ahead of time and was assured that they could accommodate my needs. Then during each meal the matre d'

Great ship, tho rooms were very small, it was very clean. The staff was excellent. Everyone was very personable, attentative and caring. There was one place in France where the tour guides were not of the caliber of the staff. They went on and left several of us slower folks. It was a tour specially for slower folks. Only 2 of them, tho... overal lovely.

This was our third AmaWatersways River Cruise. Each is very memorable. Because a large group had canceled a month or so before the start, we were worried there might be some changes. Not at all. AmaWatersways kept everything as scheduled. To start the pre-cruise in Nice was absolutely fabulous. The Hyatt Nice was the best and a great way to start out trip. The cruise was wonderful and the crew were terrific. The post-cruise in Geneva was also great. Our Cruise Director did just a wonderful job making sure we were taken care of for the two weeks she was with us. She crossed every “T” and dotted every “I” and then double checked again and once again there were no hidden fees at the end of the trip. Our travel agent was also great, making sure we had everything we needed. Thank you for a very memorable trip.

Not impressed for the money we paid I could have gone on an ocean cruise and had a suite with a butler and good entertainment options. I was bored on this trip.

Our third AMA River cruise was no disappointment. A new River, old hospitality. A great Cruise Director in ALouis, he was there in Barcelona and all the way to Geneva.

The staff were outstanding - from cleaning to Cruise Director. Everyone so attentive and fun. It just finished off the beautiful landscapes and tours to make an outstanding experience.

Three years ago, we took a fabulous Amawaterways river cruise. Everything was amazing, including the food and wine. We expected the same for this cruise, especially given how much we paid! The crew was wonderful and service was good, but the food and wine were just mediocre. Also, we had no idea that we would spend many nights going through locks which were noisy and caused a jolt, therefore most nights we didn't sleep much. Needless to say, it was disappointing.

The food was superb, the service was excellent, and the excursions fun and interesting. We enjoyed being with our friends on the cruise. We elt we were in good hands all around.

Best vacation ever, great staff, wonderful excursions and delicious food! We will do again!
