it was unfortunate that the river was so high the ship could not complete the trip - however after leaving the ship this seemed to have less emphasis on the Christmas markets which was the reason for booking this trip. The hotels food was horrible - food that should be hot was lukewarm to cold. On board, before we were removed from the ship we were told we would be reimbursed half the cost of the cruise portion of our trip - we were not given a break down of how this refund was computed but I do not believe that $333 is half of what I paid.

We loved the entire idea of a river cruise. we were sad to find out when we arrived in Nuremburg that our boat was not going to make it to the Danube. We were on the boat for 4 nights and then shuttled to Vienna for 2 nights. we were very impressed on how our cruise director and Avalon as a hole took care of us. I am saddened a bit because we only received a $500.00 refund which I was told that we were getting 50% of the nights not on the boat just a bit confusing. it would have been nice to get a percentage off our next trip as well or something like that. Tony the Cruise Director is one of the best out there. we went above and beyond to try to make our trip the best it could be. we spent so much time on a bus it was very tiring to say the least. I'm not sure what could have been different but that was the downside of the trip. We will be booking another trip in the near future but it might not be the Danube.. Thanks Tom and Linda Hunt

Though the time was short, this cruise was a journey filled with great ports, delicious food and a wonderful staff. I would most definitely book with Avoya Travel again.

Better than we had imagined. . . crew was great, and the time flew by as we were always entertained.

You would never know the trip was a little bumpy with the river low. Crew and Cruse Director did an amazing job to make the little things count.

We loved our Danube river cruise with Avalon. It was very well organized and the staff was so friendly and supportive. We loved and it and will certainly go again.

I can not say enough positive things about this cruise. I've cruised many times but never by riverboat or with such a small group (120 cruisers). Staff were amazing, it was small enough to truly get to know people (staff and fellow travelers), even our captain would come out when we were docked and lend a hand as folks got on and off the boat. Food was high quality, excursions (included and a couple of additional ones we did) were great. AMAZING trip. If I had the option, I would never cruise another way.

The staff were outstanding. The excursion what I hoped for, and sitting on top deck watching the castles, vineyards, and beautiful scenery was so relaxing.

Awesome. A little disappointed about the low water level, but you can't help it when mother nature throws a curve
