Beautiful. Crew was amazing.

We enjoyed all aspects of the cruise. What we would not do again is schedule 2 excursions a day every day. Its too exhausting

It was absolutely wonderful!

Loved the cruise. We were very fortunate to be able to make it the whole way in the Rhine. The captain told us that at one point on the river there was just 12” of water between the bottom of our ship and the bottom of the river. We met a couple from North Carolina while we did the boat tour around Lake Lucerne. They had been on a Viking cruise and their ship had to turn around at Strasbourg and go back to Worms, Germany because of the water levels. They then had to go either by bus or train to either Basel or Lucerne, so they never made it to Breisach and the Black Forest which was one of my favorite places. The excursions were wonderful, the food on the ship was excellent and the staff did everything in their power to make it an enjoyable experience for everyone onboard. My only disappointment was in flying on Icelandair. We chose BWI as the airport since it was near my cousin’s house and Avalon used Icelandair from BWI. On a 6.5 hour flight we were given a small nonalcoholic drink twice during the flight - no food or snacks unless you purchased them, and this was on a Boeing 737max8 with very cramped seating. People who flew economy on Delta were on the nice wide body planes and were served dinner, breakfast, snacks and drinks. They were even offered wine at no additional cost - so if that was the same airfare package that we had, we definitely got ‘the short end of the stick’. Also, the airport at Reykjavik was the most inefficient airport of all the airports we had to go through on our trip. The airports in Zurich and Copenhagen were much better. Other than my disappointment with the flights to and from the cruise, it was a wonderful trip.

It was our first time on a river cruise. Unfortunately, due to the flooding and swelling of the Danube, cruising was the only thing we didn't do. However, most of the other elements of the trip went as planned. We saw memorable sites, tasted delicious local food, and loved every minute. The local guides were knowledgeable and informative. Our stateroom was a nice size and well appointed, with plenty of storage space and some room to move around. The bathroom was also a nice size, and the laundry line in the shower came in very handy. The food was varied and tasty, and the staff friendly and as helpful as they could be. The only thing missing was nightly entertainment; after dinner it would have been nice to have someone playing piano/singing in the lounge. We only had 2 nights with live performers. I have to give Avalon kudos for the way we were treated after the announcement that it would be impossible to sail. Their compensation was more than adequate, and greatly appreciated, especially since the circumstances were beyond their control. We hope to schedule another cruise in the near future. We can't say enough good things about our Avalon experience!

I gave her three because I would give the ship and the cruise five but I would give the plane arrangements a one. That was a disaster.

Everything about this cruise was amazing! The ship was beautifully appointed, the food was terrific, the local guides were so engaging and knowledgeable, and the ship's staff and crew were attentive and helpful. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, green, and bucolic. I greatly appreciated the casualness of the cruise, and the views from almost any floor or location. Truly a trip of a lifetime for me.

I am normally not a cruise person, but this trip exceeded all expectations. The staff was amazing. The food was "over the top" and the excursions were perfect for introductions to reach port. Well Done!

Our experience on the Avalon View was first class in every way. The ship was beautiful, the staff wonderfully attentive and the food was delicious. We will definitely book again!

I would highly recommend this river cruise! The Christmas markets were unbelievable, and so very quaint! Wonderful staff, good food, excellent, excursions and tours! A bucket list item for sure!

Avalon Waterways did an excellent job facilitating our first-ever river cruise! They went "above and beyond" with their professional service for our "Christmas Markets" cruise on the Danube River. The cruise director, Tabea, was especially helpful and supportive. We would definitely cruise with Avalon Waterways again for a summer adventure on another European river.

The active and discovery trip on the Avalon View traveling the Danube Prague to Budapest was first class all the way! From the service, meals, tours offered and the crew on the boat our trip was wonderful. Highly recommend

Fabulous trip. Wide range of incredible activities. Cruise director did a great job keeping us informed and 'herding' us on to our various tours. Food & menus were great. Great fun going thru the various locks! Each stop was special in its own right. History, culture, fun was the theme of every day!

Such a wonderful way to see three beautiful cities and many charming towns.

The accommodations, transfers and excursions, meals, and most importantly, the cruise staff and Avalon representative could not have been more helpful and wonderful.

Every feature of this trip was an easy, delightful experience. Not Avalon's first rodeo. We're in for a 2nd trip soon
