The boat, food, and service were wonderful. Unfortunately, we were not able to cruise from Budapest to Vienna because of water levels. Obviously this is no fault of Ayova, but it made the trip less desirable. The agent Stacey McKown was great and responded quickly to emails even when we were on the trip.

At any age it was a great adventure that will be remembered forever.

I found the ship to be beautiful without being overly formal. The crew was friendly and accommodating. The Cruise Director and main office did an exemplary job of making accommodations when a low water situation made completing the trip as planned. Things were rearranged and all but one destination was reached. They made accommodations for lunch since we were not returning to the ship. Extra accommodations were made for those of us who had early AM departures.

We absolutely loved our cruise! We were a little nervous about a river cruise when we are used to luxury ocean trips. But this blew us away! The ship, the crew, the food, the included excursions, the views, it couldn’t have been better! We will definitely be back!!

I felt that the excursions were cursory and nothing special. It was not a single meal eaten off the ship, and there was way too much “free time” while in port. I feel that Avalon did not distinguish themselves with this cruise.

My first river cruise and I will definitely do another. The entire staff were remarkable. The food was good. Entertainment was great. Had a fabulous time!

As first time travelers on a Rhine River cruise, Avalon certainly met and went beyond our expectations! The Captain and crew ran a top shelf 8 day cruise and were extremely accommodating to all of our needs. The cuisine was excellent and the wines served were top shelf! The tours w ere well planned and the guides were very knowledgeable! We are looking forward to our next adventure with Avalon!

The staff made the trip special for all of us. It’s one thing to see historic sites, and it’s another thing to experience the countries’ tastes, music, architecture, and people. This trip gave us those opportunities.

Every aspect was taken care of by our cruise manager. Our first river cruise was fabulous! I only suggest some type of flag be put out in cities where 15 or more boats line the docks. I couldn't find the Visionary and became panicky after a city tour. A crewmember of another boat pointed it out still quite a way in the distance.

Hello- I was a bit disappointed that the bulk of the cruise was in hotels and not on the boat which is wherecruises happen. I know this is partly my responsibility for not reading the detailed itinerary. I also left the Marriott in Budapest 1 day early due to a work commitment and in spite of my status with Marriott, my ambassador there could do nothing about the charge since it was booked by you. Although the rooms on Avalon were nicer and bigger than on Uniworld, the food and service on Uniworld last year were far superior. Please keep me informed of opportunities where the single occupancy is waived. Barry

This was my first river cruise, and it was magical. Our budget room was absolutely lovely--much more than I was expecting for the price we paid. The staff was friendly and courteous--consumate professionals. The meals on board were amazing--no detail overlooked. Our excursions were well worth the price, and the ones that were included in our trip were fantastic, as well. Our cruise director was incredibly organized, helpful, and friendly. This vacation was so relaxing--after spending time in Europe on my own, trying to find my way around, going on this cruise made me realize there's a much easier way to travel! I can't wait to plan my next trip!

Our second day on the boat there was an accident on the river, closing it completely. We had to leave the boat and were then bused to all the next cities and stayed in a different hotel each night. Even though it wasn't what we expected, everyone at Avalon went above and beyond to make everyone comfortable. Our cruise director Mark was great. He was with us the whole time to take care of any problems. This was a once in a lifetime trip for myself and my three daughters. It didn't turn out like we had planned, but I will definitely cruise with Avalon again.

I cruised on Avalon four times now. I can't say enough how wonderful a cruise line it is. I will definitely cruise again.

Our 2nd cruise was as amazing as the 1st. We are booked for the Burgundy and Provence cruise in April 2018.

We can not find one disappointing part of our cruise. All the activities and free time was well planned. Even when our travel got interrupted on the river the cruise director was able to save the day by having a alternative plan.

Avalon was great. This was our first river cruise. It exceeded expectations in every respect. Accommodations on the ship were equivalent to a luxury hotel. Every tour and excursion was enjoyable and informative and happened without any hitch. We will do this again.
