My first ever cruise. I think I was a bit disappointed because I had super high expectations. To me, it was all just okay, except the service, and the spa. Those were excellent. I'd have liked more free time to explore a bit during the hiking bits on the excursions.

The cruise was everything I had hoped for and met all my expectations. The pre-trip left much to be desired, but the actual cruise was amazing.

Did Rome on our own because the trip had nothing to do with Rome. Left from Civitevechia, Port of Rome. Cruise included hour and half bus trip to Florence didn't have water for the return trip. My wife had requested alcohol free wine for the Cruise, which they had, but had to scramble to find it each time it was requested. Won't bother with beefs by other cruisers, but the consensus was that this was their last Viking Cruise.

My daughter and I loved everything about the cruise - the ship, the crew, the itinerary, the excursions, etc. The only thing that truly disappointed us was the evening food. I can say that I really only had one evening meal that I truly enjoyed. My food at Manfredi's was dried out and lacking in flavor, and my daughter got ill over the seafood meal she had - we never went back for our second reservation. The pastries were outstanding, and we had salads for lunch and a basic breakfast, so nothing was wrong there. And, unfortunately, the pre-cruise and post-cruise hotel locations were disappointing. The food and hotel location critiques do not come lightly and unknowingly since my husband I had been on numerous cruises for over 25 years.

Unfortunately, 3 ports of call were missed. Otherwise a fantastic trip.

Viking Star and Suites, Food,were excellent. Disappointed with:Entertainment --all the same singers and very few variations. Not enough to do on Sea Days. Staff --Most very good but many were not as friendly or outward going as found on Regent. Exception was Suite attendents were excellent. Maitre 'ds and supervisors in Restaurants were excellent. Servers and floor staff need improvement. Responsiveness and Service was slow in dining rooms--long wait between starter and main course. This cruise seemed to cater more to Seniors vs. active passengers.

Wonderful ship, crew, amenities, food, and itinerary. Enjoyed this cruise through Panama Canal immensely!

While the Viking ship was fairly new and exceptionally clean the rooms seemed smaller their advertised size. Food; nothing to write home about, limited choice and not exceptionally well prepared. Excursions; another major let down. They (not Viking itself) changed the requirements the day before we docked in Honduras to "over a certain age yellow fever vaccination not required-we decided to skip getting off the boat anyway. The other excursions were also a let down. Probably the best one was Cozumel was the best. Overall. not worth the money and I wouldn't recommend it, definitely not money well spent. I also wouldn't recommend a Viking cruise if this was an example of their normal cruises. All my colleagues agreed with me, at least on this particular cruise.

Wonderful staff

Although the schedule had to be revised because of unrest in Russia, we enjoyed the Norway, Finland, Sweden and Denmark stops along with Poland and Berlin. Viking, as always, treated us like royalty and everyone was so pleasant and helpful.

Our 14 day Viking Homelands Cruise was an extension of the Viking World Cruise. Viking splurged on spoiling us rotten on the World Cruise. The Homelands Cruise was a noticeable step down in several ways. The fact that the Viking Air Desk screwed up our return the day before flying out of Stockholm added to the reduced satisfaction on the 14 day extension.

Wonderful trip!

This cruise searching for the northern lights was truly amazing, even with the rough seas and losing one destination port. Why didn’t I give it a 5 star? Because the ports we did stop at really had nothing to offer. One stop was on a Sunday and everything was closed. I feel if a cruise ship is landing in the town’s main city center , they should open at least some notable shops for the 600+ people coming in to learn about and enjoy their surroundings.

We had a wonderful time on the cruise. The ship was beautiful. The stateroom was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and very helpful. All the restaurants served delicious food, especially the Chef's Table. Most of the tours were very enjoyable and interesting. We would have liked more time in some of the ports. Entertainment was poor for the most part, with the exception of the cruise director's singing, which was wonderful and professional. Other entertainment was amateurish. The resident historian was excellent, knowledgeable, and very interesting.

TOPS! ***** Once again, Viking has made me feel as a special guest. From our flight, transfers, sailing, and tours - they thought of everything. Looking forward to our next river cruise in April 2020. Of course, I can not miss saying our Avoya agent always brings our planning together and trouble free. Diana Randal is tops in our book and to everyone I recommend her to. I always travel trouble free knowing she has taken care of everything.
