“Viking River Cruise Great, Air Travel a Nightmare”

While the actual onboard Viking River cruise was excellent and we had a fabuous time, the air travel was truly a nightmare. We had purchased upgraded seats with foot rests and additional recline option, but our flight was delayed by multiple hours and we were re-scheduled on a class of service that did not provide that option for the long flight over the Atlantic ocean. Additionally, although assured by Delta Airlines staff that our bags would follow us to our newly assigned flights, they did not, and our bags were delayed by more than 24 hours. Not a single segment of our Delta flight went as planned, and we encountered multiple delays and inconveniences. Can't believe we paid as much as we did for our air itinerary, only to not receive that level of service.

Communication was poor, shore excursions were not exceptional, cabin very small .I've been on many river cruises but not a longship until this cruise.
