Viking River Cruises - Viking Jarl Reviews

Crew and food excellent. Met a lot of nice people. Staff worked really hard keeping room and ship immaculate. Only issue was very long ride home Budapest ti Zürich To LA to Sacramento. Total time with layovers about 21 hours. Should have rearranged it somehow. Thanks to Mari’s who went over and above for us.

We are avid ocean cruisers but thought we would like to see more of the interior of Europe. We also love only packing/unpacking once during a trip so a river cruise seemed the logical next trip. The personnel on the Viking Jarl were very friendly & enthusiastic (they were the highlight of our trip). We did not think that the tour guides on most of our excursions (both those included & those we paid for additionally) were particularly good and some were not good at all. We enjoy some private time which is not possible on a River boat. The only place to sit in your cabin is on the bed. We had rain on most of our days so the upper deck was unavailable leaving only the lounge area as our (and everyone else’s) only choice for a place to pass time when onboard.

Viking staff are always helpful and considerate. The meals are always varied and well prepared.

This was a fabulous vacation with three of my girlfriends. The boat was lovely, very comfortable. The service staff so friendly and attentive. We had a lot of fun with them. The food outstanding, entertainment too. The excursions were informative and not too tiring. I'll defiantly be considering another river cruise soon.

This was amazing. Even thought the river was down and we had to bus to last location- it was fantastic. actually wonderful to see the countryside. Food and service as always on Viking Impeccable!!

This was the most seamless trip I’ve taken. Had an amazing time and can’t wait to do it again!!
