The area was great. Christmas markets outside of Germany were disappointing. Viking had very good food and service but the rooms feel utilitarian and are small compared to other river cruise lines. I think they travel too far in this itinerary, giving little time to see cities unless you shuttle back to catch up to the boat that had to keep moving.

They have their act together from meeting you at the airport to including house wines with lunch and dinner.

We believe we should have been made aware of the low water levels along the Danube & given an opportunity to postpone our trip until spring. The only reason we spent so much money for merely a week long trip was because cruising would allow my husband to travel in spite of his physical difficulities. Being bussed for so much of "the cruise" was very difficult for him. It was NOT the experience we purchased.
