Star Explorer

Star Explorer is Windstar’s newest Star Class yacht, debuting in December 2026. She introduces a capability no other Windstar ship offers: the ability to sail from river to ocean on a single vessel. Her 9-night maiden voyage departs round-trip from Barcelona on December 28, 2026, kicking off a winter season in the Mediterranean. From there, she expands to itineraries around the world. Built to Windstar’s small-ship specifications, Star Explorer carries just 224 guests across 112 all-suite accommodations. Because she’s designed for both coastal waterways and open ocean, she can reach shallow river destinations that traditional ocean ships can’t, then continue on to classic coastal ports.

Nearly every suite includes a private veranda or one of Windstar’s signature full-height infinity windows. At the top end, two Horizon Owner’s Suites feature wraparound balconies and wide, open views. Dining includes familiar venues like AmphorA, the Yacht Club Café, and the al-fresco Star Grill, along with a specialty restaurant unique to this ship. The onboard experience also reflects Windstar’s Star Class design. Guests will find a two-story WindSpa and fitness facility, a pool and sun deck, and a forward whirlpool set into the bow. At the stern, the signature watersports platform opens directly to the sea.
