Wind Surf

Wind Surf is the flagship of the Windstar fleet and the largest of its sailing yachts. She’s a five-masted vessel with seven computer-operated sails and more than 26,000 square feet of canvas. The rigging rises 221 feet above the deck, giving the ship its unmistakable profile. Originally built in 1990 as Club Med I, she joined Windstar in 1998. Despite measuring 535 feet and 14,745 gross tons, she carries just 342 guests across six decks. That balance keeps the experience spacious and personal. Wind and diesel-electric propulsion power the ship up to 15 knots. At sailaway, the unfurling sails – often set to Conquest of Paradise by Vangelis – create one of the most memorable moments at sea.

Accommodations include 150 ocean-view cabins, 18 suites, two Bridge Deck Suites, and a distinctive Officer’s Suite near the bridge. Each is finished with plush linens, granite vanities, L’Occitane amenities, and well-stocked minibars. The ship’s larger size allows for more expansive public spaces. Guests will find a full-service World Spa, a two-level fitness center with a yoga studio, and a broad pool deck with an expanded bar. Dining includes AmphorA, Stella Bistro, Veranda, and Candles for open-air evenings. At the stern, the watersports platform opens directly to the sea. Paddleboards, kayaks, and snorkeling gear are all included, rounding out what many consider the quintessential Windstar experience.
