Join a local expert to see Stockholm’s greatest vistas and attractions, including Gamla Stan (Old Town), Riddarholm Church, the Royal Palace, and the Parliament, on a historic and cultural walking tour. Enjoy a visit inside Stockholm’s stunning City Hall, which displays towering brick walls paired with an opulent interior. Explore the Vasa Ship Museum and learn about the vessel’s shocking maiden voyage, when it sank in a single nautical mile (the perfectly preserved ship, commissioned in the 1600s by King Vasa, was raised from the bottom of the harbor 334 years later). This afternoon is yours to explore Stockholm independently, from its colorful architecture to its innovative cuisine.

Bid farewell to Stockholm and set off by train for a relaxing journey to Gothenburg, Sweden’s second largest city. Upon arrival, join your Tour Manager for an orientation walk, and enjoy a private sightseeing tour from the water on board one of the city’s sightseeing boats. Hear about the local history and present times as you pass the fish market, old shipyard areas, and docks along the harbor. Enjoy the remainder of the afternoon and evening to explore independently.
