Brazil, Argentina & Chile Unveiled with Brazil's Amazon
This South America tour features three of the continent's most exciting cities—Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, and Santiago—along with Iguassu Falls and Brazil’s Amazon. At a relaxed pace, you'll enjoy guided sightseeing in each city as well as free time in Rio to sip caipirinhas and visit the famous beaches, in Santiago to people-watch at a lovely café with the snowcapped Andes Mountains as your backdrop, and in Buenos Aires to take an optional excursion to a local estancia (ranch) or a Tango show with dinner. Your guided sightseeing tours include the cog railway in Rio de Janeiro that takes you 2,300 feet up to the summit of Corcovado to view the famous Christ the Redeemer statue and 360-degree views of the city; Recoleta Cemetery, burial site of Eva Perón, in Buenos Aires; and a visit to the 18th-century Cathedral in Santiago. A highlight of this South America tour is a visit to Iguassu Falls, where you'll experience the falls on both the Brazilian and Argentine sides. Hear the thundering roar of the water and be awed by the rainbows formed in the mist. Pictures cannot do justice to these falls—they must be witnessed in person! But that's not all…you’ll also stay inside the Amazonia rainforest. You’ll cruise down the Rio Negro to the Meeting of the Waters, where the Rio Negro and Rio Solimões form the mighty Amazon. You’ll enjoy Naturalist-guided walks to see the Amazon’s flora and fauna, and a visit with native Caboclos to learn about the local way of life. From the vibrant cities to the scenic beauty, this vacation to South America will leave you with vacation memories you'll cherish for life. For savvy, value-minded travelers, it's the perfect vacation.
Tour Itinerary

Welcome to the capital of the Amazonas region where you will be met by a Cosmos representative. Located in the dense Amazon Jungle area, Manaus preserves images of its opulent past and is still a major port—even 1,000 miles inland! Please note: You will meet your Tour Director in Rio de Janeiro.
Cruise down the Rio Negro past riverside communities to the famed Meeting of the Waters, where the dark Rio Negro and milky Rio Solimões flow side by side to form the Amazon. Arrive this afternoon at an ecolodge nestled along the Rio Negro in the rainforest. Tonight, enjoy a guided caiman spotting float, drifting through silent waterways beneath a brilliant canopy of stars in one of the world’s darkest night skies. (B,L,D) Please note: The itinerary in the Amazon is subject to favorable weather conditions and water levels. When conditions are unfavorable (draught season is generally September – November), alternative eco-lodging and excursions will be provided.
Join an expert Naturalist for a guided walk through the Amazon rainforest, where you’ll encounter an astonishing diversity of wildlife—from colorful macaws to medicinal plants, giant trees, and hidden insects that play a vital role in the ecosystem. Later, cruise upriver with a Caboclo local and gain insight into their traditions, culture, and deep connection to the river and surrounding rainforest. (B,L,D)
This morning, leave the ecolodge for a tour of Manaus, including the famed Opera House—completed in 1896 after 15 years of construction—and a local market. Then continue to the airport for your flight to Rio. (B)
