Our cabin was fine - roomy enough, always clean, features were very good. Food was below average and unimaginative, even the Chef's Table dinner. Tours were not very good. Specifically, the gentle tour in St. Emilion. Tour Gudie, Christina, had a high pitched voice and very pronounced French accent so way hard to understand. For whatever reason, she took us up steep streets that were challenging to navigate, but do-able - yet didn't think the group could do the really interesting part, the underground church. As we passed by wine stores, she said obvious things, like, "They sell wine here, as well as glasses and carafes." On another tour, when we were in the bus, we were driving past boat shacks on the river, and her brilliant commentary included, "There's a blue shack, there's a pink shack, there's a white shack." She was the worse tour guide ever. Prior to the cruise, my husband and I spend 4 days in the Bordeaux region, finding our own winery tours. Those were all far superior to the ones on the cruise. My husband took the bike option on the cruise, and also felt the tours were boring. I had been pleased in a past Ama tour on the Rhone, but this trip really negatively impacted my view of Ama.

We loved the relaxed atmosphere of this trip. We sailed most of the day and did shore excursions in the afternoon. My husband, who is a go-go-go type person, actually loved sitting on one of the rocking chairs on the bow, in the am after breakfast to view the river trip. He was fascinated by the train that paralleled the river. (he is a board member of a local train museum, hence his interest). We are already booked for our next cruise this December (Bucharest to Budapest along the Danube).

Jam packed, never a dull moment! So many venues visited with incredibly knowledgeable Tour Directors. Plus, the added bonus of a 7-Day Cruise on The Nile. Perfect in every way!

The trip was not what we expected from the food to the beverage process to disembarking. The food was good but well below that of the previous cruises we had been on. The beverage plans charged for soft drinks on a non meal time schedule. I understand alcohol but soft drinks, it felt very customer unfriendly. The worst part of the trip was finding out the point of disembarkation was not Dijon or even close to Dijon but an hour south with no transportation options. We found out on the boat that the only way within reason to get to Dijon was by bus from our landing point. I called my travel agent and AMA to clarify disembarkation details prior to leaving and both gave me inaccurate information. So we took the AMA arranged bus at 530am arrive at the Dijon train station at 630am for a 9am train. Not a great way to end our trip. We spoke with the AMA representative on board who defended how the end of the trip was communicated but the brochure was very misleading.

We had an amazing time on our Danube River Cruise. From German to Budapest, we had great weather and the boat was a perfect way to enjoy the sights along the river. Staff was friendly and helpful and the boat never felt too crowded. Loved being able to enjoy time on the sundeck and lounge and took advantage of all the excursions at every stop. Food was delicious and plentiful. We hope to do another River Cruise in the future!

Great 10 day trip. 3 day pre cruise in Lisbon followed by 7 day Duro river cruise from Porto. Food, wine and the professionalism of the entire staff made this a memorable experience. I would highly recommend AMA as your choice for the Duro river cruise from.

Ama Waterways Stars of Africa was the perfect balance of city tours, safari, speakers and tours. Delightful, elegant accommodations and far exceeded our expectations. The staff we met, to a person, were some of the most attentive and genuine we have ever met.

WOW Great experience, wonderful crew. Meals were amazing. Sergiu was our favorite server in the dining room. He was always very professional and helpful. My husband has a severe alergy and Sergiu was always aware and confirmed when any questions were asked. Loved the included tours.

Great relaxing trip in the Seine! The ship was beautiful; the crew was amazing; and the food was incredible!

Wonderful trip. Great staff, beautiful ship, awesome food. Gentle excursions were just right for my husband. Lucas, the Cruise Director, was the best, very friendly and helpful. Loved all of it.

The cruise and safari provided the e greatest vacation of our lives. We saw so much and AMAWaterways provided the optimum tours and hotels. We highly recommend The Golden Trails of East Africa tour to everyone. We would never had found this tour without the help of Avoya’s travel Agent, Margie Setller. She is the best!

Very good itinerary. We saw a lot. It’s a smaller ship because of the river constraints. The bathroom was very cramped and the beds were to be 2 twins and were made up as a king and it took 3 requests to get it resolved (about 10 pm day 1). Also the food was good, but not as outstanding as other AMA trips that I have been on.

Everything was outstanding, but the food was mediocre.

Absolutely wonderful! Good friends, great food, awesome places with guides. Bucket list checked!
