Cabin and wait staff were great, but cruise director, shore excursion leader and especially the captain were horrible. Can understand why there were riots on the October cruise. Many issues, not just one. First, it was clear that we would not be able to go to Venice. It was well documented that Venice was closed due to historical flooding, yet the Captain sailed to Venice and then had to figure out an alternative at the last minute. Had they planned for it, we could have sailed into Ravenna which we had passed, the perhaps have been able to pick up the port we missed earlier in the cruise due to weather. On the way to Venice, there was a visible gust front as well as a strong radar signiture way in advance to steer into or at least prepare people for it...I was prepared and warned a many people as I could so when it hit, my dishes and drinks weren't sliding off the table, but nearly everyone elses were and people were screaming, etc as the ship tipped 10 deg to port. The biggest clearly controllable disappointment though was the passage into Kotor. The shore excursion crew told us that one of the highlights of the trip was the passage into Kotor. Originally we were due to sail in at 11 am, and leave at 5. Due to the other issues, they decided to sail in to Kotar at 630 am and leave at 6 pm...so much for the great view in the dark. A simple 30 min delay would have made a huge difference for everyone. Finally, most cruises have port/tour presentations. They had one on the first day for the first 4 ports. I guess after the cancellations that they were afraid to go infront of the people on board to discuss the ports they didn't cover. As a result, many people would have changed tours if available since the descriptions on line weren't the best. Any one or two of these might be understandable with the weather, but all of these combined seem to match the same issues brought up from the October fiasco with the Iceland trip...poor communication, poor planning when faced with bad weather. Hopefully this is just a Spirit issue and not a reflection of NCL as a whole, but if my upcoming South American cruise is as poorly managed, I will no longer go on NCL despite my gold level.
